Alex has over twelve years of professional design experience, and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in visual communications from Herron School of Art and Design. While earning his degree at Herron, Alex studied extensively in the areas of Design, Art History and Illustration. From 2004-2011, he worked as a Graphic Designer at Printing Partners in Indianapolis, Indiana. Through this position, he had the opportunity to build close working relationships with clientele and managed multiple design projects with tight deadlines. He worked efficiently without sacrificing quality and delegated tasks to colleagues when necessary. His experience with Printing Partners also gave him the mastery skills in print production necessary to properly prepare, request and troubleshoot files to ensure they are press-ready.

Since Printing Partners, Alex has been working as a freelance Graphic Designer and consultant in web-based and print design positions. At The Proposal Center in Orlando, Florida he created complex isometric and 3D graphics through visual and verbal instructions from multiple writers and subject matter experts. Using his experience in print production combined with his design skills, he helped create enhanced executive summaries. During the 2012 election cycle, he worked under contract at Mack Crounse Group in Alexandria, Virginia. He utilized cutting-edge design on a very high volume of direct mail pieces, all with extremely short turnaround times. He managed to successfully execute and deliver powerful and informative mailers in support of candidates that in turn helped many candidates win election or reelection. Since 2012, Alex has been sought out for his past political mail experience and worked as a freelance designer with The Chadderdon Group, and is still working with Bergmann Zwerdling Direct.

At the beginning of 2013, Alex had the opportunity to work with Kimley Horn & Associates on several pieces for their company wide kick off as well as designing pieces for the Move DC initiative to draw commuter feedback and interest in a forum discussing ideas about commuting in and around the District. From March through September, Alex worked in Washington, D.C. at Graduate School USA under contract. There he helped begin a rebranding process, design and produce a 200 page catalog, designed brochure campaigns, posters and corresponding promotional web banners as well as numerous online and print ads promoting the school’s classes and the value it offers to the community in D.C. and nationwide.

Currently, Alex is working with National Journal creating invitations, programs and signage for multiple large scale events for both the Membership and Events teams.
